Service Objectives
Target Group and Scopes of Service
Target Group
District Support Centre for Persons with Disabilities: people with disabilities living in the community; family members or carers of people with disabilities; and the community at large
Day Care Service for Persons with Severe Disabilities: people with severe disabilities aged from 15 to 59 living in the community
Day Respite Service: people aged 6 or above with disabilities who are living in the community
Scopes of Service
(1) Training Services
Provide individual and group training to service users to strengthen their domestic and community living skills.
(2) Personal Growth and Development Services
Provide diversified person development programmes, innovative learning experiences and social integration activities, targeting individual growth, social and personal development, in a bid to enrich their strengths and talents.
(3) Parent Education Services
Provie leisure activities and seminars for the family members/carers to strengthen their caregiving skills and to alleviate their stress. “Carers-Staff Association” is organized to actively promote collaboration between family members/carers and our Centre, thus enhancing our Centre’s service quality.
(4) Integrated Support and Respite Services
Provide high-quality day respite services to service users to relieve the stress of their family members/carers.
(5) Community Education and Integration Services
Through community education and inclusion activities, our Centre not only enrich the personal life experiences of persons with disabilities, but also create an equal space for them and shoulder the responsibility of promoting civic education in order to build a harmonious and inclusive community.
(6) Rehabilitation and Caring Services
Our occupational therapist, physiotherapist, and speech therapists provide treatment and training based on the roles, functional needs and physical abilities of service users.
(7) Day Care Service for Persons with Severe Disability
Provide rehabilitation, caring, recreation, training and home improvement services to persons with severe mentally/physical disabilities aged 15 to 59.
(8) Case Management Services
To meet the individual needs of service users and their family members/carers, our Centre provides assessment, counselling, consultation, resource referral and other services. Individual plans are formulated for service users and their family members/carers to enhance their quality of life and their community resource network.
(9) Counseling Services
Our clinical psychologist applies knowledge and theories to provide psychological assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic treatment to service users in need, aiming to reduce psychological distress.
Referrals for counselling services must be made by our social workers. Please contact our social workers for further information.
(10) Support Services for Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Individual intervention services for persons with autism spectrum disorder will be conducted through comprehensive needs assessment, and will be followed up according to case management models, aiming at strengthening their social, vocational and emotional management skills so as to be well-prepared for facing challenges in different developmental stages and for independent living abilities, further assimilating into the society.
(11) Designated Team for Special School Leavers (abbreviated as Designated Team)
Care and support services are provided by social workers and medical staff to special school leavers and their family members/carers. An 18-month out-of-school care plan is provided for special school leavers to foster connection to community support services, helping them make a smooth transition from school to community life and relieve the pressure of their family members/carers.

Membership registration is required in order to apply for our services. Persons with disabilities and/or their family members/carers can directly apply for services at our Centre.
