Service Objectives
The centre provides nursing, rehabilitation training, counselling and referral, social and recreational activities, personal care, meals, transportation, carer support services and so on to elders who are not taken care of by family members in the daytime with an aim to maintain elders’ physical health and body function. The centre also maintains elders’ motive and ability so that they can age in place.
Target Group and Scopes of Service
Target Group
Elderly persons aged 60 or above who:
Have stable health conditions and are not bedridden on a long-term basis
Have been assessed by the Social Welfare Department’s mechanism as suitable to receive services at an Elderly Day Care Centre (excluding respite services)
Reside in the community and are not receiving residential care services
Are unable to obtain full-time care from their caregivers
Do not have violent tendencies
For long-term service users, must reside in the Tuen Mun District

Application Procedures
Applicants for long-term services, or their family members, may submit applications through nearby Integrated Family Service Centres / Integrated Services Centres, Medical Social Services Units, District Elderly Community Centres, or Neighbourhood Elderly Centres. These service units will assist in applying for long-term services and the Standardised Care Need Assessment for Elderly Services.
Users of respite services, or their family members, may apply directly to our service, either on their own or through the above-mentioned service units.
Eligible applicants will undergo an intake assessment conducted by a nurse, after which the Centre will arrange for the applicant to receive services.
Services will be provided to eligible applicants according to the order of application, and the duration of service will be discussed and agreed upon.
Withdrawal Procedures
Long-term service users must submit a withdrawal application and complete the procedures at least two weeks in advance
