 Service Objectives  

  • With the concept of “our strength plus the community”, to provide life skill training to raise individual’s ability and strength; to empower the strength of different minority groups to create more resources in the community so that a more positive relationship can be created among different minority groups; as a result, a harmonised community with social cohesion can be achieved; to raise a sense of belonging. This can help positively change the feelings of the ethnic minorities and let them feel they are being respected, cared and supported.

Target Group  

  • People of all ethnic minorities

Scopes of Service  

  • Language Class: to provide English class on elementary, intermediate and advance level to adult learners.

  • Academic Enhancement: to provide Mathematics and Chinese class to lower secondary students and primary school students.

  • Tutorial: to give tutorial class to lower secondary students and primary school students.

  • Services Enquiries: to raise the knowledge about the public services available in Hong Kong.

  • Women’s Health Programme: to provide women with the latest health information and to raise their health awareness.

  • Employment Service: to provide assistance in job hunting through employment development programme and counselling.

  • Volunteer Service: to encourage participation in volunteer activities so as to make contribution to the society.

  • Interactive Group and Community Ambassador Network: to build a hoarmonised society.

  • Social Integration and Culture Appreciation Programme: to integrate into the society and appreciate the culture.

  • Know the Local Culture Programme: to know the local culture and development in Hong Kong so as to cultivate a sense of belonging.

  • Personal Development Programme: exercising, leadership training, interest group, cultural activities.

  • Communication: to provide activity information in the centre and share opinion, interest and experience.

  • Apart from setting up a task force on children and youth, specialised programmes are designed for the youth.

  Facilities 

  • Dance studio, activity room, gathering room, youth area and pantry.

  Application Procedures

  • Applicants can visit the centre in person or make a call to the centre.

  • Applicants can be referred by government departments, the Social Welfare Department, hospitals, non-government organisations, local groups and individuals.

  Withdrawal Procedure  

Visit the centre in person or make a call or write to the centre.
