Service Objectives
-
Through outreaching to reach families in need and help them ease their difficulties; if necessary, to refer them to appropriate services to avoid worsening the situation.
Target Group
-
Single-parent families or families under the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme, disadvantaged families or other needy families; elders living alone; newly arrivals; youth at risk; families with problems of child care.
Scopes of Service
-
Outreaching: to render proactive and targeted outreaching service to the vulnerable through outreaching means, and identify the issues in early stage; to promote community resources and services at the centre.

Short-term Counselling and Referral Service: to provide short-term counselling service for the sake of solving individual and family issues; to evaluate the issues and to refer the needy persons to appropriate services.

Community Education: Through various activities, for example, exhibition, seminars and information counters, to raise the social consciousness of the residents.

To organise volunteers to visit people in need and to promote activities held by the centre.

Application Procedures

Applicants can visit or make a phone call to the centre for application; apply for services during outreaching; persons referred by individuals or other agencies.

Applicants can be referred by government departments, the Social Welfare Department, hospitals, non-government organisations, local groups and individuals.
Withdrawal Procedures
Visit the centre in person or make a phone call or write to the centre.
